Welcome to Beth Lavery

Date

The Inclusive Public Space project extends a warm welcome to Beth Lavery, who recently joined our team:

I joined the IPS Project in February 2021, a few months after completing my BA in Social Policy and Sociology at the University of Leeds. During my studies I had the opportunity to complete an internship within the IPS project through the Q Step scheme, which was a great opportunity to see a research project in action while still an undergraduate. My studies focused on social class and educational inequalities, with my dissertation looking at some of the connections between Universities and the gentrification of their cities, whilst considering some of the political meanings of processes of creativity. The IPS project represents an exciting combination of my interests in cities, disability justice, and interdisciplinary approaches. As a Research Project Support Officer, I am involved in administration and data management alongside data collection for the IPS project.
